The 2nd HK Deaf Short Film Contest is about to begin its selection process. We are very grateful for everyone’s participation in our competition this year and are happy to see friends from different countries joining us.
We are honored to invite directors Yeung Chiu Hoi and Judy Chu as judges, encouraging Deaf people to continue creating and thinking about development directions. The selection process will take place in July, and the criteria and calculation method are as follows:
The selection criteria are a total of 100 points:
– Theme expression (appeal in line with the theme) 50%
– Accessibility foundation* (including whether subtitles and image quality consider the needs of visually and hearing impaired individuals) 25%
– Creative concept (showing great ingenuity) 15%
– Production techniques (complete film production) 10%
*Accessibility foundation focuses on the clarity of the film, including whether subtitles and image quality consider the needs of visually and hearing impaired individuals.
The scoring calculation method is as follows:
After the scores are determined, the highest and lowest scores (both invalid scores) are deleted, and the remaining scores are added together and divided by the average score to obtain the actual score of the participant.
The selection results will be announced in July 2023.
The award-winning works are scheduled to be presented at an online awards ceremony in September 2023, and the results will be announced on the “Hong Kong International Deaf Film Festival” fan page and the official website. The winners will be notified on a specific date, and the announcement time is subject to the notification time of the organizer.
